The happiness in just Being.

When you quiet your mind long enough to hear your inner being, it is almost like experiencing another world. The world without, the world in which we appear to inhabit and where everything fights for your attention and pretends to be of utmost importance, seems to disappear and a whole new world, the world within, begins to blossom. You begin the journey of true life and discover the truth of your existence.

Eckhart Tolle helped me to realise that the power of living is in this very moment! Being in the present moment changes everything! When we look at and are present in every action we perform now our power is impressive! Neale Walsch is another man to whom I am grateful for teaching me that life is as I say it is and not what another tells me. Whatever is happening right this minute is what it is, and I have the power to love and cherish each moment, or, if it is not what I want to be happening, then I have the power to change it.

We all want something to cling to that is familiar because it grounds us but the trouble with this in religions is that it gives power to another person’s belief and that is dangerous. We are all thinking beings made of the same ‘stuff’, cut me and I bleed, the same as you, and while some have the ability to reason well, casting doubt over all other reasoning, is this reason enough to place them higher then we ourselves are?

Take Jesus as an example. He did not believe he was better than any other human. He lived his life as proof of who he was and became a light for others to follow. He showed through example there was a better way to be! During a time of turmoil when humanity could not decide who it was in the scheme of the universe, Jesus was a fresh idea with great marketing via his disciples. And they sometimes too got it wrong, shunning those who asked for guidance because they worshipped differently. Are we not all God’s children?

I have had it explained to me on numerous occasions about God’s chosen people! For goodness sake, if that were true then many of us will perish when the Angel of Death comes among us and judges us for our deeds for not even The Pope is without sin! Look at the wealth within that church! I do not see it spread among the poor and those in need... without conditions. Yes I know you will say we are in need of great leaders for many are too blind to lead but beware the monster you build as that leader. Too much power and wealth will bring undone even the most humble of ‘men’! The human mind has not evolved so much that the conscious mind or ‘ego’ as Sigmund Freud termed it, could deny such power.

Religions have us believe that we were born sinners. In a court of law, even the criminals are considered innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. So go ahead and find a newly born baby guilty of sin and prove that beyond reasonable doubt. I challenge the highest authority! This original sin we carry according to the authors of the bible is only according to the author as beheld in a vision or inspirational thought taken to be from God! Were they high on anything at the time of this?

Even Jesus denied the material world and retired to the desert for 40 days and 40 nights, he then spoke with his father God and came back a changed man. You would too if you shunned the cares of the world, not having family to feed and no-one relying on so you could go off to be by yourself. You too would do a lot of thinking about human kind. You might ask many questions when at your lowest point through starvation and you might be tempted by the devil in your mind and you too might have a conversation with God and come back an Enlightened’ person... if you listened to the wisdom of your thoughts. I tell you the thoughts you would have would be the same for anyone if you were quiet long enough to listen.

I am not against religion for any reason except where it allows those to follow blindly without explanation. The truth is only ever relative to the observer. How do we find that truth beyond doubt without relying on faith? If you cannot take responsibility for your own life and instead live by faith, then you live it by default. If you think a ‘stranger’ such as those with the apparent ‘highest authority being God’, can forgive your sins, then you live life by default by allowing another to tell you what is good or bad or ok!... according to them! You begin to believe that it is ok to be bad in the eyes of society because ‘God’s little helpers’ will forgive you. If you have deceived another for gain, then they are the ones to ask for forgiveness not a ‘figure’ who knows nothing of the slight. Can you be the new ‘light to follow’ and wish for another what you wish for yourself?

There are directions for living if you read the signs. The movie ’Bruce Almighty’ in a light hearted way, shows that signs are everywhere and while they are not always apparent because we are too indentified with our problems, they will always be there. A sign that has been in the background of your life but suddenly stands out is a sign to listen to and act upon. Don’t be frightened to take the risk. Everyday is a new day to shout to the world that you are the creator of your life. No other living soul could possibly live your life for you; no other person could possibly be you. There is the beauty of life!

Remember to remember who you really are.

'Nothing' is New

I have discovered that the older I get, the more time I have to think. The more I think, the more I want to know. The more I know, the more I understand that I know very little. Since Descartes (dubbed the 'Father of Modern Philosophy), most philosophers have believed that self-knowledge is importantly different from knowledge of the world external to oneself, including others' thoughts. Socrates, the Greek Philosopher once said, “The only thing I know is that I know nothing”. At least in the bigger picture of the universe I guess he realised how little he really knew.

If you remember the 80’s movie ‘The Never-ending Story’, you’ll remember the ‘nothing’ that threatened to take over 'Fantastica'. This ‘nothing’ represented the people’s lack of imagination in the real world. Eventually, through reading the book, young Bastian himself becomes a part of the story but his lack of confidence causes him to hesitate in taking the next step and save 'Fantastica' from the ‘nothing’.

My reason for relating this story is to remind you that confidence in every action determines the result. Your imagination, which as adults we sometimes forget we have, allows you to create new ideas and new ideas are the foundation for improving your future. Whether borrowed or unique, your idea has the flavour only you can add which in turn makes in new again. Your idea in action is the key to moving your life ahead in the direction that is right for you.

You may find yourself delaying the action by thinking. Is it the right or wrong thing to do? What if I fail? Let me tell you, there is no right and wrong way to act. There is only your way and if you do not act then you live life by default. You let life live you instead of you living your life! Tell your story the way it should be told. And that is by YOU. You are the author, the writer, the creator. Neale Walsch taught me that through his ‘Conversations with God’ series.

We have, as part of our very nature, the idea within of the best way to act relative to any situation. The trouble is that we have forgotten who we are. Our world is so busy being busy that we have forgotten to take the time to go within... and so we go without.

Take the time each day and remember to remember who you really are.

Welcome...

Hello and welcome to my blog spot. I have created a new place to express thoughts about life, from my perspective. I hope along the way you learn or at least re-think some things about yourself as I know I will learn many things from you. It is the small things we notice about others that leave a soft impression or lasting view of them, ourselves and especially society as a whole.

Some blogs will be long when it's obvious I have a lot on my mind. Others, like this one, will be short but nevertheless just as important for releasing my thoughts. It is a relief to shout out feelings and thoughts to the world without repercussions of a direct reaction as I am now finding the situation I'm in far from pleasurable. However, life goes on the same as it always will and I have to learn to go along with it in my own way.

Today is one of those days when I am not feeling the 'love' in my 'universe'. We all have days when our thinking is not as positive as it is on better days. It is called frustration when the things we want to change but feel unable to because of the repercussion conditioning our thinking minds believe that prevent us from enjoying life. Whose life is this anyway? Frustration can be harmful in that it shows resistance. And what you resist persists! However, frustration with your current situation can also be very helpful. If you are unhappy with the way things are then... change your mind. Frustration can turn into an idea of how to change things but you have to be open to receiving ideas of change. Intuition is the idea for change. Trust it. Use it. What have you got to lose... except frustration and an unhappy life!

Trust life! It may not always give you what you think you need or in the way you think it should happen. And it won't happen over night... But it will happen! Be open to the signs because there most certainly will be signs.

And so if you can take one day at a time... you can improve your life simply by changing your mind!
